Meet your Urban Farmer (trailer) by the Fire and Light Media Group
“This short film series, Meet your Urban Farmer, will introduce urban farmers in the Metro Vancouver area. If you’ve never had the opportunity to meet the wonderful array of passionate individuals behind the urban farming movement, and the wonderful food they grow for the community, this will be an opportunity you won’t want to miss. ”

Hey Ilana
Good to meet you on Saturday. We were having a look at your website and were wondering were we can access the information on what you are doing with the schools? We are looking at trying to get something similar going here on the westside.
Thank a lot!
Gord
Hi Gord,
Thanks for your interest. Check out our community partnerships page..
Hello dear friends!
I just finished a business plan for this exact mission! I live in Montreal, but my family lives in Thornhill, a suburb of Toronto. I am wondering how it is going. Is it a success? I noticed also that you linked the Teva Learning Center. I was staff at Eden Village Summer Camp this summer, wonder if you’ve ever heard of it. Anyways, I am interested in more information about the internship opportunity. I don’t have a place to stay in Vancouver, but I am very interested. Please let me know what you think.
Peace, Love, and Happiness
Jordan Bibla
p.s. you should really have an email address available!
Jordan,
It would be great to be in contact via email. You can reach me at ilana@freshroots.ca.
Of course I know Eden Village Summer Camp! I worked at Teva in 2008, and created strong ties with that Jewish community out east. Many of my friends worked with you this past summer – I heard it was a tremendous success.
Do email us – or post how I can reach you via email. It seems we have quite a few things to talk about.
Happy New Year (again)!
Cheers,
ilana
Jordan,
I have the same aspirations, but you are 1 step ahead of me. I have yet to complete a business plan. I see you posted your comment over a year ago so i do not know if you will ever see this, but i would love to get in contact with you and pick your brain…the same goes for Ilana. I live in a gated community in Southern CA and i would love to begin a community gardening club within our community, and hopefully, show this densely populated area that we can take control of our health and well being (ala The Ocuppy Movement) at a local grassroots level, where we could all get together to do our part to give back to the community, schools, shelters, etc. I’m fed up with everyone taking from our mother earth and no one bothers to give back. I’m 35 years old so I still have a lot of time to make a positive impact on society, and I long to ditch the stuffy corporate system and replace it with something with meaning.
I am in absolute astonishment with what Fresh Roots is doing in their community and I would love to extend your operation to the South West. You can reach me at driscollmatt14@gmail.com
Thanks, and Happy New Year
2K12 is going to be big!
Hello, my name is Jong Sang Lee, a Korean TV producer and director. I am currently in the making of a documentary titled ” Low Carbon, Green Growth” depicting the sustainable production of food and consumption of it. I am interested in fresh Roots Urban Farm and was wondering I could film a segment of your farm to be included in our documentary.
I had sent an email to Ilana via her email address but have not recieved a reply yet. I also tried reaching her via phone but failed.
If you happen to see this, please give an email to my email address.
Thank you in advance for your time.
Hi Jong,
How did your documentary turn out? I am interested in watching it. Where can i find it?
